When purchasing a down duvet be sure to get one that is at least a 200 thread count or higher. If you go any lower than that you may have feathers poking through at you. When it's time to wash your comforter cover, just take it off your down quilt and throw it in the wash like you would your sheets. But when it comes to your down duvet, it's going to cost you between 30 and 40 dollars to dry-clean, so the less you have to wash it, the better. That's why comforter covers are so important.
